Its evidence can be seen even today in the form of forts, temples, and many other monuments. The unforgettable works of these kingdoms were the patronisation of various philosophers and musical bards; resultantly, they contributed to establish socio-religious and literary movements, which shaped the musical (Carnatic (Karnataka Music) and Hindustani traditions both forms of music), literary, cultural, and tradition of the state. Interestingly, it has evolved two most prominent types of music.
Geographically, the state is classified as the coastal region of Karavali, the hilly Malendadu region consisting of Western Ghats, and Bayaluseeme region comprising the plains of the Deccan Plateau. The main rivers of the state are Krishna and Kaveri; other rivers (which are tributaries of these rivers are Bhima, Ghataprabha, Tungabhadra, Hemavati, Shimsha etc.
Karnataka has Tropical Climate, which is largely divided into three seasons; i.e. Winter Season during the months of January and February; Summer Season during the months of March and May; Monsoon Season during the months of June and September.
