East Siang district, located in the state of Arunachal Pradesh is administered from the district headquarters located at Pasighat. The territory was divided from West Siang district and the East Siang district was created in 1989. It is Located at Latitude-28.1, Longitude-95.1. The district got its name from the River Siang which originates from Tibet, where it is called Tsangpo. East Siang District is divided into 14 Tehsils , 120 Panchayats , 166 Villages. Festivals in East Siang are celebrated with much grandeur. It is bounded on the North by China, on the East by Upper Siang & East Siang districts, on the South by Assam and on the West by Upper Subansiri & Lower Subansiri districts of Arunachal Pradesh.
