Lotus Temple

The entire construction is made up of white marble, which adorns the additional beauty to this temple. It is around 40 meters tall encircled by nine ponds and seems as if the temple is floating like a Lotus flower in the water. The structure of the temple is consists of three ranks each of nine petals and all springing from a plinth uplifting the building above the surrounding plain. It is designed in such a way that the first two ranks bend inward, embracing the inner dome and the third one bends outward to give the shape of canopies over the nine entrances. Thus, the nine arches, which give the main support for the superstructure ring that is central hall, beautify the entire structure. This central hall has the capacity to accommodate nearly 2500 people at a time.

Above all, the most substantial feature of this meticulous architectural masterpiece is the amalgamation of the vivacious Indian history along with the modern engineering and architecture.

Lotus temple has endorsement being recognized across the world as one of the most visited place of pilgrimage in the world.
