This garden has been re-designed in the year 1968 by JA Stein and Garrett Eckbo. one of the
most beautiful features of this garden is - National Bonsai Park where you can get the finest collection
of bonsais. Besides, it has several species of trees, and flowering plants especially roses. Among
these beauties, the bird lovers can also have great opportunity to watch varieties of birds
including parakeets, babblers, kites, mynahs, owls, Hornbills, and kingfishers near the water body.

However, the Lodi Gardens are also famous for the historic buildings. Some of the important structures are:

Muhammad Shah's Tomb

Muhammad Shah's Tomb
It is situated in the southwestern part of the garden. This unique tomb has octagonal shape along with the central chamber. To connect the internal structure, there is also a verandah (corridor), which has three sides opening. However, there are total eight graves inside the tomb, of which the central one is of Muhammad Shah.

Sikandar Lodi's Tomb

Sikandar Lodi's Tomb
It is situated in the northwestern side of Lodi Gardens. It has octagonal shape where every side opens in three arches with slopping buttresses at the corner. Surprisingly, unlike other tombs, the chhatris of this tomb is absent.

Moreover, your visit in Lodi garden will be of course memorable because you get opportunity to watch several landscapes at one place.

Bara Gumbad/Masjid

Bara Gumbad/Masjid
Situated at 300 m northeast of Muhammad Shah’s tomb, Bara Gumbad/Masjid is a square tomb. Interestingly, the interiors of the tomb had been adorned with the stuccowork and beautiful paintings.
Constructed in 1494 AD, the tomb keeps significant place in history. However, the tomb had no grave; therefore, the people buried under this structure are still unidentified.
